Purpose and Values

What Do I Believe in?

With this page, I aim to define my values and clarify my purpose to follow my passion.

The purpose of The Blooming Practice answers the question of why this business exists, whereas my values answer the question of how I will get The Blooming Practice to get to where I want it to go. My values are what I believe in and the behaviours I agree to embody. They are my guiding principles and beliefs.

The Purpose of The Blooming Practice

The purpose of the Blooming Practice is to provide the tools, strategies, information, insight, and space needed for adolescents and adults as individuals, couples, and groups to find the courage to transcend their fears through healing, personal growth, mental health, holistic wellness, counselling, and lifestyle design to become their favourite selves and live their best lives.

The Blooming Practice Values

I continuously strive to use The Blooming Practice as a force for good. Thus, my values are embedded in everything I do. These values are non-negotiable characteristics and behaviours I expect of myself in both my personal and professional capacity. These fundamental beliefs and highest priorities guide all my professional actions and drive my behaviour.

Adaptability

Everyone and everything needs to be able to navigate a sea of uncertainties and unexpected issues. While effective planning can help one survive turbulent times, even the best-laid plans become useless when changes occur too quickly or suddenly.

Being adaptable means I am able to adjust to successfully deal with new conditions and situations to the point of not only being affected by change, but leading and managing it. It is the ability to change and maintain effectiveness in a changing environment. This enables me to turn failures into successes and setbacks into learning opportunities that facilitate counselling and growth. It also means that I appreciate what it means to adapt to my clients’ needs. Consequently, I aim to stay flexible and adapt as circumstances change.

Compassion

I believe in showing genuine concern about the needs of others, thus resulting in a sense of safety in the counselling and growth space, along with the opportunity to see new possibilities. Compassion means appreciating and being attuned and sensitive to the difficulty of others and what they may be experiencing through expressions of kindness, helpfulness, and caring – leading to enhanced trust and learning for all parties involved. This involves suspending judgment, actively listening, and interacting in an authentic and interested manner that reflects my full attention to appreciate others’ perspectives and situations even when they are different from our own. Therefore, I am genuinely concerned about the other person and their needs.

However, compassion does not mean feeling sorry and pitying others to the extent that I take care of them in a way that rescues them. Instead, my approach towards compassion involves appreciating clients’ situations and providing accountability for them to rescue themselves. It means that I provide others with the tools, strategies, information, insight, and space with which they can help themselves.

Integrity

For me, integrity means acting ethically and transparently in all business dealings. It involves being accountable and following through with decisions made – even if there is no one around to see it. It means I value taking responsibility for my actions. I honour my moral principles.

Quality

At The Blooming Practice, I maintain a steadfast commitment to quality in everything I do. For me, excellence is essential rather than optional. My products and services have been thoughtfully created and carefully crafted to supply my clients with the ideal intervention. Every detail of my resources is meticulously curated to ensure that my clients are provided with the highest standard of growth, adjustment, and learning opportunities. I believe an emphasis on quality underpins my clients’ satisfaction and success. Therefore, I continuously ask for feedback and endeavour to improve myself, my services, resources, and products.

Respect

Respect goes beyond simply being polite. Instead, respect means treating everyone with dignity and worth and recognising them – regardless of their background, position, experiences, or opinions. It is acknowledging the unique being of every individual, rather than their doing. This means that I respect others even when their path doesn’t perfectly align with mine. I believe respect is the foundation on which any relationship is built. Respect, however, is a two-way street. Therefore, I expect to be treated with the same measure of respect I afford others.

One day you will look back and see that all along, you were blooming.
